Today at Vallor Trucks we inform you of the new protocol that has come into effect since last February with fines of up to € 2000
The entry into force of the Royal Decree 70 / 2019 on February 15, which modifies the ROTT, has made it necessary to adapt the sanctioning system to the EU Regulation 2016/403, introducing a new infraction on the normal weekly rest performed by a driver in the vehicle, which does not allow to take that kind of cabin break. This new infringement is typified by a fine of up to € 2000.
This infraction has been established in the legal type already provided for in the Law on non-compliance with compulsory rest periods, the severity of which is calculated according to the resting time inadequately performed in the vehicle cabin. The new infraction only affects the normal weekly breaks, that is to say, those more than 45 hours that carriers must take compulsory in the second week.
Therefore, during a road check, the agents will check the weekly rest of 45 hours or more, and if it is not justified, the sanction can reach an amount of € 2000.
