PEGASUS EKUS

Pegaso Ekus and to replace the range of light trucks

PEGASUS EKUS

The Ekus range from Pegaso was not an E.N.A.S.A. product in its own right, but rather the result of an agreement between Pegaso and MAN, under which the Spanish company would market the VW-MAN range of light goods vehicles under the winged horse logo.

To replace the J4 van, its lightest model, it would market the Volkswagen LT van, renaming it the Pegaso Ekus; and to replace the range of light trucks, the PEGASO-SAVA S series, it would market the VW-MAN light lorries, which would also adopt the name Ekus. For the light-duty van model, they would offer a Volkswagen 2.4-litre, 6-cylinder diesel engine producing 75 cv or a turbocharged version producing 102 cv; for the light-duty lorries, they would offer MAN-VOLKSWAGEN engines of 3.8-litre engines producing 90 cv for the 6.5-tonne 1210.6 model, and 5.7-litre engines producing 90 and 136 cv for the 8- and 9-tonne 1215.8 and 1215.9 models respectively.

Sales of this model continued right up until the final days of Pegaso back in the 1990s, before it was sold to Iveco.
