The PEGASO 1061

In our blog today we're talking about the Pegaso 1061… A classic!

The PEGASO 1061

Let’s talk about this model, which replaced the Pegaso 1060 in 1963. It had a total weight capacity of 20 tonnes, leaving 14 tonnes available for the body and payload. They were designed to be coupled to a trailer with a gross laden weight of 18 tonnes, thereby forming a 38-tonne road-rail unit.

Its main improvements were: the engine fitted with a standard alternator and oil filter, with power-assisted clutch control, pneumatic control of the gear-shift multiplier (ball-type gear-shift, as described in the 1063 model), hydraulic power steering, a reinforced front axle, a handbrake with a mechanically operated, air-assisted system, wider brake drums and thicker brake linings. The other features are similar to those of the ‘Cabezón’ series.
