IVECO and Nikola showcase their European-made electric.
IVECO presented today in Turin the Nikola TRE truck, a prototype of a battery electric truck (BEV). It will be available in 2021 for sale.
Today in Vallor Trucks we are talking about the prototype presented by IVECO and Nikola. This vehicle is the result of the alliance between the Italian group IVECO, a subsidiary of CNH Industrial and the US startup Nikola. Yesterday morning the "Nikola Tre" was presented in Turin, the first electric truck built in Europe.
This vehicle, a prototype based on the IVECO S-WAY, has an engine of 750 kilowatts with a range of 400kms, will have another version of hydrogen, which will have a range of up to 1000Kms. In addition to this two-axle version, a three-axle version will also be marketed.
Testing of the vehicle will begin in 2020 and the electric version is expected to be ready for sale by the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022, both in the U.S. and Europe. Hydrogen fuel cell trucks will arrive in 2023.
